Stay Safe, Stay Healthy and Use Telemedicine to Manage Your Pain During COVID-19
By Dr. Mark Malone
With COVID continuing to take its toll, your safety is our number one concern.
Right now, the only safe things to do are:
- Stay at home
- Keep your distance
- Wash your hands
- Wear a mask
Even more, COVID is invisible, and up to 50% of patients are asymptomatic, but still infectious. This is why we are taking all the necessary policies and precautions we’ve outlined in this article to make sure you stay healthy.
Please stay home, stay safe, and let us help you manage your pain with telemedicine.
Our COVID Policies That Will Keep You Safe
To protect your health against COVID-19, we have temporarily stopped:
- In-person visits
- Elective procedures and surgeries
- Urine testing
- Pharmacy walk-ins
We will have a modified Surgery center schedule until May 8th. Effective May 11th, all clinics and Surgery centers will be open as normal.
Emergency Exceptions To Our COVID Policies
In the case of the following emergencies, our staff will treat your case in-person at the clinic:
- Infected implants
- Acute progression of spinal degeneration
- Intrathecal pump refills
These cases must be deemed an emergency by your pain management doctor. If you are experiencing any of the above, please contact us immediately to see a physician.
All other cases will be treated via telemedicine.
You Can Still Get Your Prescriptions Filled At The Pharmacy
Though the pharmacy is currently closed to walk-ins, you can still get your prescription in one of two ways:
- Filled and mailed to your home
- Filled and picked up via drive-through
This way, we can maintain social distance while still getting you the medication we know you need.
If you have any questions about how to get your prescription refilled at this time, please contact us.
We Can Still Help You Manage Your Pain Via Telemedicine
At this time, we are still open for initial evaluations and follow-up visits via telemedicine.
A telemedicine appointment utilizes video conferencing and software to provide you pain management services without an in-person visit.
Your personal information is always our number one priority.
Thus, our telemedicine platform is 100% HIPAA compliant, and our business agreements ensure your information is handled safely and securely.
Once you book your appointment, our staff will provide you with information on how to use the software on your phone, laptop, or tablet.
When your appointment comes, your doctor will call you with a provided login that will transfer you to a virtual waiting room specific to your provider only.
How Telemedicine Can Keep You On The Path Towards Relief
We understand that with quarantine, you may feel like your pain management program is frozen or derailed.
But thanks to technology, we’re happy to say that’s not the case.
With telemedicine, we can still prescribe you medications and procedures and help you with any questions you may have.
The pharmacy can mail your medication to you directly, or you can pick them up via drive-through. We can schedule out procedures for the near future when the COVID shutdown lifts.
Both help ensure that you can still effectively manage your pain at home and find relief without completely stalling.
If you have any questions about telemedicine or would like to book an appointment, please contact us.
