What Makes Advanced Pain Care’s Retail and Compounding Pharmacies Different?
Advanced Rx Pharmacy was created in by an Advanced Pain Care effort to make sure that the care and service of our patients is the top priority. We strive to enhance our patients’ and customers’ experience through superior education, excellent customer service and medication availability.
Our Goal
While our commitment to personal service is still the most important aspect of our business, we are constantly expanding to include many patient care services such as prescription compounding and specialty healthcare items. This modernized pharmacy will manage and maintain the intimacy of a neighborhood pharmacy while serving your everyday health needs.
What is pharmaceutical compounding?
Pharmaceutical compounding is the creation of a particular pharmaceutical product to fit the unique need of a patient. Our compounding pharmacy can produce unique dosage forms based on patient preferences and/or restrictions. Examples of ways we can customize include using dye-free, preservative-free, alcohol-free, and/or sugar-free forms of medications. Many compounds are specialized medication combinations or compounded in other forms that are not otherwise commercially available.
Medications can be produced to specific patient need in a variety of ointments, gels, syrups, suspensions, suppositories, capsules, and other formulations that can make medications easier to take, or to address special health problems.
Medications are made in the pharmacy lab and dispensed to patients only upon receipt of a valid patient-specific prescription.
Patient, physician, and pharmacist work together together to provide an alternative treatment option when and if the current available treatment options are not the best fit for you.
Consider compounding your medications if you experience:
- Side effects, such as stomach upset, that prevent you from taking a medication orally
- Requiring a different dose of medication that is not commercially available
- Reluctance to take the medication due to its taste
- A child (or pet) refusing medication
- Difficulty swallowing pills
