Staff Bio

Tamiko Drake had the privilege of being married for 25 years and raising 8 children. During that time, she pursued her passion for aviation maintenance at Texas State Technical College. As a stay-at-home mom for over 20 years, she successfully managed household responsibilities, including cooking, cleaning, and homeschooling her kids. Additionally, she is proud to be a member of Theta Zeta Epsilon Sorority Inc.

In 2015, Tamiko’s life took an unexpected turn when she was involved in an auto accident that resulted in three fractured vertebrae in her neck. Despite undergoing a corrective surgery called Cervical Discectomy and Fusion, the excruciating pain persisted. That’s when she discovered the Spinal Cord Stimulator, which offered a glimmer of hope. After a successful trial, she decided to undergo permanent implantation.

Prior to the trial, she was unable to stand, cook, clean, or fulfill her daily responsibilities due to limited function in her right arm. However, the Spinal Cord Stimulator has been a life-changing solution, allowing her to regain some normalcy and improve her quality of life.
