Mark T. Malone, M.D., is a Board Certified pain specialist and a native Texan. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and went on to attend the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. Dr. Malone attended Baylor College of Medicine for residency and training in anesthesiology, and then completed a pain management fellowship at Texas Orthopedic Hospital in 1998. Prior to founding Advanced Pain Care in 2002, Dr. Malone was a member of an Austin-based group practice for twelve years, and a clinical instructor at Baylor College of Medicine for six years. He is double board-certified in anesthesiology and pain management by the American Board of Anesthesiology, with a sub-specialty in pain management; this is the only board certification for pain management endorsed by the American Board of Medical Specialties. In 2017 Dr. Malone was appointed Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery and Perioperative Care at UT Dell Medical School.
Dr. Malone is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the International Spinal Intervention Society, the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, and the Travis County Medical Society. He has successfully treated thousands of patients suffering from acute and chronic pain. He and his wife, Tracy, live in Austin with their three children. In his spare time, he enjoys water-skiing, cycling, and travel.

Staff Bio

Stephanie moved to the Austin area from El Paso Texas and joined Advanced Pain Care in 2015. She graduated from University of Texas at El Paso in 2008 with her bachelor’s degree in Nursing. She worked as an Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at University Medical Center of El Paso, a level 1 trauma center affiliated with Texas Tech Medical School from 2008-2015. As an RN, she cared for critically ill medical, surgical, neuro, and trauma patients. She was active in the education of graduate nurses and nursing students as both an instructor and mentor. In 2015 she graduated from University of Texas at El Paso with her Master’s Degree in Nursing and is a Board Certified Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Her practicum experience included rotations with Neurology at Texas Tech Medical School-El Paso, Neurosurgery at UMC El Paso, and Medical ICU at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso.

Stephanie has empathy for her patients, her husband suffers from chronic back pain as a result of an injury, “I know how devastating having a family member with chronic pain can be. I remember going to the pain doctor and being very concerned over the treatment my husband received. I make sure to be open and honest with my patients to give them the best possible care.”

Stephanie spends her free time with her husband, four children including twin boys, and her grandson.

She is a member of American Association of Nurse Practitioners and Texas Nurse Practitioners.
