He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Texas A&M University. He went on to complete his Physician Assistant studies at University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. His background in Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Neurotology, and Family Medicine has provided him with a broad understanding across several disciplines which allows for exceptional patient care in his role at Advanced Pain Care. He has practiced in the subspecialty of Pain Management for over 15 years.
His patient philosophy is to stay up to date with advances in pain management, to take time to listen and understand the unique needs of each patient, and then to do all he possibly can to improve each patient’s function and quality of life.
Shawn is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. He is a member of the American Association of Physician Assistants as well as the Texas Association of Physician Assistants.
Much of his free time is spent hiking, biking, almost any activity outdoors, and rooting for the Aggies and Astros, with his wife and four sons.
