Specialist Bio
Amy is a board-certified Adult Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist living in Austin for the past four years, originally from Las Vegas, NV. Her career has been shaped by both athletics and healthcare–beginning at the University of Tennessee where she was an All-American swimmer and earned her degree in Education, Health, and Human Sciences with a focus in Therapeutic Recreation becoming a Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist.
Working across multiple settings with individuals with disabilities helped build her foundation in patient-centered care and led her to pursue a career in advanced nursing through The University of Texas Alternate Entry Master of Science in Nursing program. Amy’s clinical background includes long-term care, palliative care, and orthopedic sports medicine, areas where she focused on improving quality of life.
Experiencing a complex knee injury with multiple surgeries and developing CRPS has given her a deeper understanding of chronic pain. That experience continues to drive her passion for supporting patients through their own pain journeys. When she is not working, Amy enjoys being outdoors—swimming, hiking, biking, and playing disc golf with her boyfriend and her dog, Boba.
