Mark T. Malone, M.D., is a Board Certified pain specialist and a native Texan. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and went on to attend the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. Dr. Malone attended Baylor College of Medicine for residency and training in anesthesiology, and then completed a pain management fellowship at Texas Orthopedic Hospital in 1998.Prior to founding Advanced Pain Care in 2002, Dr. Malone was a member of an Austin-based group practice for twelve years, and a clinical instructor at Baylor College of Medicine for six years. He is double board-certified in anesthesiology and pain management by the American Board of Anesthesiology, with a sub-specialty in pain management; this is the only board certification for pain management endorsed by the American Board of Medical Specialties. In 2017 Dr. Malone was appointed Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery and Perioperative Care at UT Dell Medical School.
Dr. Malone is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the International Spinal Intervention Society, the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, and the Travis County Medical Society. He has successfully treated thousands of patients suffering from acute and chronic pain. He and his wife, Tracy, live in Austin with their three children. In his spare time, he enjoys water-skiing, cycling, and travel.

Carol Lynn Saldaña, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker with over 15 years of experience providing mental health services, crisis intervention, and case management across medical, behavioral health, and forensic settings. She earned her Bachelor of Social Work (2006) and Master of Social Work—Direct Practice (2007) from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas.
Throughout her career, Carol has been known for her ability to meet individuals where they are, offering steady support during some of life’s most difficult and vulnerable moments. She takes a holistic approach to care, recognizing the importance of addressing the emotional, physical, social, and environmental factors that influence each person’s well-being. Carol is deeply and humbly committed to ensuring that every individual she works with feels heard, respected, and supported.
Carol has served a wide range of populations, including families, veterans, LGBTQ+, incarcerated individuals suffering from mental health and medical conditions. She approaches each individual with empathy, cultural sensitivity, and a genuine desire to help them find stability, healing, and hope. Her combined experiences have strengthened her passion for advocacy and reinforced her commitment to delivering compassionate, client-centered care – especially for those who may feel unheard or overlooked.
As a bilingual provider fluent in English and Spanish, Carol creates a welcoming and inclusive environment where individuals can express themselves openly and without judgment. She tailors each treatment plan to the unique needs of the person in front of her, recognizing that no two journeys are the same. Carol believes deeply that her purpose is to help others not only cope but truly thrive. She is devoted to helping every individual she serves, experience dignity, understanding, and the highest quality of care as they work toward a healthier, more fulfilling life. On her free time, Carol enjoys spending quality time with family, reading, learning, rock hounding, Dutch pour painting, and watching documentaries.
