Mark T. Malone, M.D., is a Board Certified pain specialist and a native Texan. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and went on to attend the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. Dr. Malone attended Baylor College of Medicine for residency and training in anesthesiology, and then completed a pain management fellowship at Texas Orthopedic Hospital in 1998.
Prior to founding Advanced Pain Care in 2002, Dr. Malone was a member of an Austin-based group practice for twelve years, and a clinical instructor at Baylor College of Medicine for six years. He is double board-certified in anesthesiology and pain management by the American Board of Anesthesiology, with a sub-specialty in pain management; this is the only board certification for pain management endorsed by the American Board of Medical Specialties. In 2017 Dr. Malone was appointed Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery and Perioperative Care at UT Dell Medical School.
Dr. Malone is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the International Spinal Intervention Society, the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, and the Travis County Medical Society. He has successfully treated thousands of patients suffering from acute and chronic pain. He and his wife, Tracy, live in Austin with their three children. In his spare time, he enjoys water-skiing, cycling, and travel.

Specialist Bio
Dr. Adam W. Spjute, MD is double board certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Management. He received his undergraduate degree in Spanish from Brigham Young University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He went on to receive his Doctorate of Medicine degree from the University of California Irvine School of Medicine. He then trained extensively in Anesthesiology and Pain Management at both the University of Texas and the University of Utah.
Graduating with the highest of honors and receiving various recognitions throughout his collegiate career, Dr. Spjute brings Advanced Pain Care an abundance of experience and expertise in spinal cord stimulation and the treatment of chronic pain in cancer patients. His published studies in Anesthesia and Pain Management have been widely circulated and studied, granting him membership into the American Society of Anesthesiologists and the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Management.
Dr. Spjute adds, “My goal is to treat the whole person, not just the pain or symptom. Even though we have made amazing discoveries in medicine, there is still much that we are learning about chronic pain. The great news is that we have made incredible advances in helping people control their chronic pain. My philosophy is to empower my patients through education so that we can work together as a team to help them regain control of their life despite the pain.”
When not working on the forefront of treating chronic pain, Dr. Spjute enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and recreational activities in the great outdoors.
