Dorothy is board certified as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. She is a member of the American Nurses Association and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.
Dorothy grew up in Austin and earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas in Austin in 2005. She moved to the Northern California to work for Intel until 2009. It was then that Dorothy committed to a career change from engineering to nursing – one of her most rewarding decisions. In 2011, she moved to New York City to attend Columbia University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2012 and Master of Science in Nursing in 2014.
After completing her studies, Dorothy moved back to Austin. She spent a year at home with her newborn son, but she happily joined Advanced Pain Care in 2015. Dorothy enjoys collaborating with providers, caregivers, and patients to find practical solutions to complex health issues. She finds it very rewarding to find ways to maximize a patient’s quality of life. Outside of work, Dorothy enjoys reading, snowboarding, discovering new places to eat, and spending time with her husband and son.
