Mark T. Malone, M.D., is a Board Certified pain specialist and a native Texan. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and went on to attend the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. Dr. Malone attended Baylor College of Medicine for residency and training in anesthesiology, and then completed a pain management fellowship at Texas Orthopedic Hospital in 1998.

Prior to founding Advanced Pain Care in 2002, Dr. Malone was a member of an Austin-based group practice for twelve years, and a clinical instructor at Baylor College of Medicine for six years. He is double board-certified in anesthesiology and pain management by the American Board of Anesthesiology, with a sub-specialty in pain management; this is the only board certification for pain management endorsed by the American Board of Medical Specialties. In 2017 Dr. Malone was appointed Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery and Perioperative Care at UT Dell Medical School.

Dr. Amanda Trout is an Anesthesiologist and fellowship-trained Pain Management physician. Originally from Anchorage, Alaska, Dr. Trout graduated from the University of Alaska with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences. Dr. Trout received her Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Vallejo, California. She studied Anesthesia at Henry Ford Hospital/Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan and went on to complete her Interventional Pain Management fellowship at the University of Toledo Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio.

Dr. Trout is Board Certified in both Anesthesiology and Pain Management. and is trained in spinal cord stimulation, intrathecal pump management, and various pain management techniques. She is a member of the North American Neuromodulation Society, the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, American Society of Anesthesiology, American Academy of Osteopathy, and the American Diabetes Association.

Dr. William Banister joins Advanced Pain Care as a board-certified neurosurgeon with more than 15 years of experience and more than 5,000 surgical procedures performed. He focuses on disorders of the brain, spine, and peripheral nerves, and approaches patients with sincerity and warmth. Dr. Banister’s colleagues describe him as being a thoughtful surgeon who considers each patient and all possibilities before developing a plan of action—and this diligent approach has helped him earn the trust and satisfaction of the thousands of patients he has treated.

Dr. Banister tailors treatment to fit the individual needs of every patient. He is an expert at managing pain and is a specialist in minimally invasive surgery to decrease postoperative pain and scarring, shorten patients’ length of hospitalization, while cutting down recovery times. Dr. Banister’s warm, compassionate demeanor alleviates patients’ concerns and instills confidence in them that when they’re treated by Dr. Banister, they are truly in good hands.
